2007 Kirsten Wang Baptism Testimony

I’ve already baptized when it was little, but the reason I baptized again last year was because I wanted to commit myself to God again. Before, I didn’t do a very good job of keeping up with all my devotions and prayers, so I wanted to renew my feelings and commit myself to doing those things again to get closer to God. Some of the reasons I wanted to do this were because of DCCYC, and church retreat. Mainly at these places, where everything worldly is left behind at home, I find myself at peace with God and am able to think clearer. When I came back from DCCYC, I didn’t think of getting baptized again, but my father brought it up to me, so I decided to get baptized. I trust that many times in the future, I have to recommit myself again and again to these habits and follow God because being a Christian wouldn’t be as easy. As I grow older, more obstacles come in the way of my worshiping God. I’ll just have to put my faith in Him and trust that He will guide me.

The time I received Christ was when I was in a desert. Since I don’t remember because I was so little, my dad told me about when I prayed my first prayer. In the desert of Portugal, the wind blows strongly and the sand rises all the way to the height of my father’s chest. Sand started blowing in my eyes, which irritated me a great deal, so I complained to father. He just told me, “pray”. So I knelt behind a small bush and started praying to God to make the sand stop blowing in my eyes. When I stood up once again, The height of the sand blowing was unbelievable under my head! That was when I started believing that prayers will get to God when I do pray earnestly, and that was also when I received Christ.
