Joint Retreat Pastor Meeting 4/1/2008

佳樂頓華人教會(美南浸會教會)簡介
回顧
1989年，阿靈頓華人教會看見佳樂頓地區華人福音需要的植堂異象，當年就差派了以陳愛光牧師為代表的一群肯為主擺上的弟兄姊妹，來到這裡開荒，建立了佳樂頓華人教會。
1995~1996年期間，神賜下建堂的異象，並且感動弟兄姊妹為主大發愛心，建立起今天的敬拜、禱告、團契、服事的聖殿。在這期間，神差派韋饒元牧師，與眾位弟兄姊妹一道，完成了神所賜的建堂異象。
1996~1999年期間，神藉謝建邦牧師，幫助我們開始去思想、及建立了一個平衡的教會觀：就是教會不是單單一個外面的建築物，而更加重要的是內裏靈命的建立。
1996 至今，神藉寧思唐牧師還在達拉斯神學院讀神學的時候，就讓他看見在這裡有一群青少年需要牧養的異象，聽見他們的聲音。於是，就開始參與、拓展了青少年事工，及英文事工至今。
1999~2002神藉常思恩牧師，將行政管理的觀念提交到議事日程上來。並且幫助教會起草了教會會章的初稿。並且神藉著他過去曾在北歐服事的經歷，引荐了王保羅牧師來本會服事至今，滿足了教會需要牧羊人的禱告。
2002至今，神帶領王保羅牧師一家從挪威來到美國，開始在本會服事至今。2001年夏天，神帶領王牧師看見佳樂頓華人教會裏有一群渴望被牧養的弟兄姊妹，聽見他們聘牧的聲音，便好奇神竟能將成長背景相異的人放在一起彼此配搭服事、為的是要祂得著榮耀。於是，2002年夏天，王牧師舉家前來，看看這異象，印證這異象。經過一年的觀察，見有荊棘般的貧乏生命在埃及的烈火中燃燒，卻是燒不壞。因為神愛這荊棘，並為此捨命。
2003年，神在教會做了調整、潔淨、揀選、及重新奠基的工作。為教會重尋成熟的異象作了積極的調整。
從2004年開始，神帶領我們開始「鑄造異象」，而且是鑄造成熟的異象。有了異象之後，人就面臨著選擇。當年耶穌對那位少年官，說，你就變賣一切的分給窮人，然後來跟隨主。少年官面對耶穌給他的異象，不僅沒有跟隨主，反倒是憂憂愁愁地離開了。其實當年離開主的，不只是這位少年官，乃是大多數人。既然是大多數人都離開了主，留下來的當然就是精兵了。
耶穌基督正是帶領留在祂身邊的「精兵」來實現祂的大使命的。請留意，精者對也、優也，而非多也。我想這就是之所以神帶領我們
2005年的異象是「作主精兵」的主要原因。換言之，我們今天在教會堅守為祂作見證、傳福音的人，主稱我們為精兵。
既然如此，試問主的精兵的首要是做什麼呢？就是我常常與你們提起的，在整個大使命的經文中，主要的動詞是「作主門徒」。這是神兒女與神之間關係的基礎，沒有這樣的基礎，也就失去了作神兒女的意義與價值。我們感謝神，藉著
2006年，使我們教會進入「作主門徒」的階段，這是離開信仰開端地步的必要。如果我們認真地來回想教會的腳步，不難發現其實這三年是非常重要的三年！因為它們是打基礎的三年，非常重要！除非我們屬靈的眼睛關閉了，又或者我們從來沒有想過要「作主門徒」，否則，應該看見神奇妙的雙手所做的奇妙作為！
怎麼知道我們是正在「作主門徒」？最關鍵的是看我們是否正在「為主結果」！神就是這樣將我們帶到
2007年。日子在身邊擦過，也許我們這些健忘的人早已將神賜給我們教會的果子忘記了。簡單地說，我們有三個果子：屬靈生命成長的果子、宣教、福音的果子、及植堂的果子。
屬靈生命的果子：從2006年教會神學院開始以來，我們教會共有20人左右已經及正在寫靈程札記。這是神賜給教會今後數靈生命成長的根基。今年以來，除了神學生本身堅持不懈地寫靈程札記，方中教的主日學也已經開始有人交靈程札記。這是可喜的果子。我在想，若是今後我們教會人都寫靈程札記的時候，將會是一幅多麼美好的圖畫！寧牧師從現在開始寫，我打算用明年的時間讓他也進入這個「系統」，讓我們教會的青少年也養成一個寫靈程札記的習慣。這就是我們今年所謂「一領一」的本質。明年教會其中一個重點，就是每一位執事及同工，都成為2009年可以用靈程札記來帶領人的領袖。
宣教、福音的果子：也許我們沒有留意，神奇妙的雙手藉著我們的參與及配搭，我們竟然是差遣了一個宣教士家庭去法國里昂做法國人的工作。我們今年去台灣、大陸短宣的時間、人數及影響都是超過往年的。還記得嗎？我們共有約25人去參與，一路上可以說是浩浩蕩蕩，煞有氣派的。當然我倒不是說什麼氣派，乃是看見神藉著我們這群不配的人，去為祂結果子。我們的短宣共帶領約20人信主！今年還是要去！我設想是大概7/20至7/30，在台灣宜蘭壯圍、晨曦會及東海大學等地服事。然後是8/1至8/10在大陸服事。8/8/2008是本屆奧運會開始的時間，願神賜給我們服事的機會。
植堂的果子：12/1/2007是McKinney團契第一次活動，共有17人參加，而且大都彼此不相識。這是神的工作、這是美南浸信會的事工、也是我們教會的事工。下一次的團契是在1/12/2008，有感動的請踴躍參加。從二月份開始，神所賜下渴慕祂話語的心，我們又朝前走了一步：現在是每兩週有一次馬可福音歸納法查經。選堂址也正在進行中。
2008年的異象是「靈命更新」。什麼是靈命更新呢？為什麼要靈命更新呢？我盼望大家從一個經歷神的角度來看2008年的異象。
2008新之所新十二條
好，今年是2008年，主題是「靈命更新」。新在那兒呢？
1. 先談週五晚團契。明年開始，我們的團契將按照教會的肢體功能來架構團契的內容。具體的作法是，將每月的活動內容按照敬拜、教導、領袖、會眾及傳道，分佈在每月的第一至第五週。這樣一年將有十二次關於敬拜、教導、領袖、會眾為內容的週五晚團契，有四次以傳福音為主要內容的團契活動。不但是內容結構新，最重要的是，連負責週五晚活動內容的人也新：每月第一週胡夢蓓姊妹負責的敬拜團契內容；每月第二週彭惠強弟兄在負責教導；每月第三週周竹瑛姊妹負責領袖團契；每月第四週由王牧師負責會眾團契，其中有三次是雷鴻負責的宣教團契、兩次是高方中姊妹的靈修團契。另外一年四次(分別是二月、五月、八月及十月)有第五個週五的，我們可以用來邀請新朋友。可以用這四次機會來專注在已經來的新朋友、當週來的新朋友、及將要來的新朋友上，看看神要我們怎麼樣關心他們。
2. 執事會在靈命上全然一新！其中的標誌就是每一位執事都以寫靈程札記的方式來學習敞開自己的靈命，親近主、見證主及榮耀主的名！會眾可以透過每週的週刊來了解及監督領袖們的靈命。更重要的，是為我們的領袖們禱告、守望、及儆醒。
3. 我自己也會將自己的靈程札記透過牧者心聲向全體會眾公開表達出來，接受弟兄姊妹的監督。歡迎弟兄姊妹隨時回應您寶貴的意見。
4. 當2008年將要過去的時候，我們應該看見一個與以往不再一樣、有屬靈活力的屬靈團隊產生了。其特徵是「切實相愛」，為的是讓眾人認出我們真是屬於主的門徒。進一步的目標是當時光進入2009年時，我們的執事們可以用寫靈程札記的方式，來為教會栽培門徒了。
5. 除了教牧同工會、執事會率先進入門訓的行列，在其他的方式下也會進行一些「試點」，如現在方中姊妹正在教的姊妹靈修班。我盼望這將成為2009年姊妹事工的基石。
6. 青少年將以7-8年級、9-10年級、11-12年級及寧牧師四組為結構來展開明年週五晚團契的內容。四個第五週為特殊週五。詳情由寧牧師報告。
7. 開始將兒童事工列入教牧同工會每週議事日程，特別是關心新朋友帶來的兒童，提請代禱。這需要我們大家為這座大廈添磚加瓦。
8. 完成教會網頁事工：從明年起，爭取每月向會眾報告進展情況。讓弟兄姊妹的禱告成為網頁事工的支持及參與。
9. 將週五晚的敬拜安排，列入敬拜部的事工，並由每月第一、四個週五教牧行政會議統籌參與。
10. 短宣的變化。除了基本維持原本的壯圍工場以外，2008年我們的神學生還將與大甲日南教會配搭，為他們的門訓學員及同工進行靈修栽培。方式基本上就是教導「靈命造就」的密集課程。盡量每一位神學生都能參與教導及作見證。短宣日程方面，我初步的設想是：5/13-6/5, 我們將前往山西太原、吉爾吉斯坦、新疆、北京。6/6-19, 我們將在大甲日南教會、壯圍教會等宣教工場。
11. 植堂的繼續。我們教會在植堂的異象上會持定腳步，以主的大使命為依歸，配合美南浸信會在McKinney拓展國度的看見，腳踏實地作僕人，服事那裡的人。為此，差傳部已經設立一個專門的戶口，供弟兄姊妹金錢奉獻之用。事實上，現在已經開始有人往該戶頭奉獻金錢。感謝主！願神感動肢體的心，以基督的心為心，多多奉獻，投資永恆的國度。
12. 目前在我家的「McKinney異象團契」將逐步過渡到McKinney植堂異象中去。目前有幾位已具備浸禮前的準備，就算是我們教會為日後的McKinney華人浸信會的禮物吧。這些禮物是我們大家一同獻上給神的！決不是那個人的，乃是眾主肢禱告的功效！
展望未來
我們以前已經或將要走過的路是：2004年：鑄造異象、2005年：作主精兵、2006年：作主門徒、2007年：為主結果、2008年：靈命更新！我相信我們每一位在基督裏與神同行的人都不難看見以上五年神在我們教會裏留下的恩典痕跡，我們根據這些痕跡不難明白神的手將要在我們身上要做怎樣的工作。雖然我們不知明日要生何事，但有一點是很清楚的，就是2009年，我們將不再一樣！你相信嗎？不僅如此，我們更加相信的是，在2010年，神要帶領我們教會接受擴展疆界的挑戰！

1989年，阿靈頓華人教會看見佳樂頓地區華人福音需要的植堂異象，當年就差派了以陳愛光牧師為代表的一群肯為主擺上的弟兄姊妹，來到這裡開荒，建立了佳樂頓華人教會。
1995~1996年期間，神賜下建堂的異象，並且感動弟兄姊妹為主大發愛心，建立起今天的敬拜、禱告、團契、服事的聖殿。在這期間，神差派韋饒元牧師，與眾位弟兄姊妹一道，完成了神所賜的建堂異象。
1996~1999年期間，神藉謝建邦牧師，幫助我們開始去思想、及建立了一個平衡的教會觀：就是教會不是單單一個外面的建築物，而更加重要的是內裏靈命的建立。
1996 至今，神藉寧思唐牧師還在達拉斯神學院讀神學的時候，就讓他看見在這裡有一群青少年需要牧養的異象，聽見他們的聲音。於是，就開始參與、拓展了青少年事工，及英文事工至今。
1999~2002神藉常思恩牧師，將行政管理的觀念提交到議事日程上來。並且幫助教會起草了教會會章的初稿。並且神藉著他過去曾在北歐服事的經歷，引荐了王保羅牧師來本會服事至今，滿足了教會需要牧羊人的禱告。
2002至今，神帶領王保羅牧師一家從挪威來到美國，開始在本會服事至今。2001年夏天，神帶領王牧師看見佳樂頓華人教會裏有一群渴望被牧養的弟兄姊妹，聽見他們聘牧的聲音，便好奇神竟能將成長背景相異的人放在一起彼此配搭服事、為的是要祂得著榮耀。於是，2002年夏天，王牧師舉家前來，看看這異象，印證這異象。經過一年的觀察，見有荊棘般的貧乏生命在埃及的烈火中燃燒，卻是燒不壞。因為神愛這荊棘，並為此捨命。
2003年，神在教會做了調整、潔淨、揀選、及重新奠基的工作。為教會重尋成熟的異象作了積極的調整。
從2004年開始，神帶領我們開始「鑄造異象」，而且是鑄造成熟的異象。有了異象之後，人就面臨著選擇。當年耶穌對那位少年官，說，你就變賣一切的分給窮人，然後來跟隨主。少年官面對耶穌給他的異象，不僅沒有跟隨主，反倒是憂憂愁愁地離開了。其實當年離開主的，不只是這位少年官，乃是大多數人。既然是大多數人都離開了主，留下來的當然就是精兵了。
耶穌基督正是帶領留在祂身邊的「精兵」來實現祂的大使命的。請留意，精者對也、優也，而非多也。我想這就是之所以神帶領我們
2005年的異象是「作主精兵」的主要原因。換言之，我們今天在教會堅守為祂作見證、傳福音的人，主稱我們為精兵。
既然如此，試問主的精兵的首要是做什麼呢？就是我常常與你們提起的，在整個大使命的經文中，主要的動詞是「作主門徒」。這是神兒女與神之間關係的基礎，沒有這樣的基礎，也就失去了作神兒女的意義與價值。我們感謝神，藉著
2006年，使我們教會進入「作主門徒」的階段，這是離開信仰開端地步的必要。如果我們認真地來回想教會的腳步，不難發現其實這三年是非常重要的三年！因為它們是打基礎的三年，非常重要！除非我們屬靈的眼睛關閉了，又或者我們從來沒有想過要「作主門徒」，否則，應該看見神奇妙的雙手所做的奇妙作為！
怎麼知道我們是正在「作主門徒」？最關鍵的是看我們是否正在「為主結果」！神就是這樣將我們帶到
2007年。日子在身邊擦過，也許我們這些健忘的人早已將神賜給我們教會的果子忘記了。簡單地說，我們有三個果子：屬靈生命成長的果子、宣教、福音的果子、及植堂的果子。
屬靈生命的果子：從2006年教會神學院開始以來，我們教會共有20人左右已經及正在寫靈程札記。這是神賜給教會今後數靈生命成長的根基。今年以來，除了神學生本身堅持不懈地寫靈程札記，方中教的主日學也已經開始有人交靈程札記。這是可喜的果子。我在想，若是今後我們教會人都寫靈程札記的時候，將會是一幅多麼美好的圖畫！寧牧師從現在開始寫，我打算用明年的時間讓他也進入這個「系統」，讓我們教會的青少年也養成一個寫靈程札記的習慣。這就是我們今年所謂「一領一」的本質。明年教會其中一個重點，就是每一位執事及同工，都成為2009年可以用靈程札記來帶領人的領袖。
宣教、福音的果子：也許我們沒有留意，神奇妙的雙手藉著我們的參與及配搭，我們竟然是差遣了一個宣教士家庭去法國里昂做法國人的工作。我們今年去台灣、大陸短宣的時間、人數及影響都是超過往年的。還記得嗎？我們共有約25人去參與，一路上可以說是浩浩蕩蕩，煞有氣派的。當然我倒不是說什麼氣派，乃是看見神藉著我們這群不配的人，去為祂結果子。我們的短宣共帶領約20人信主！今年還是要去！我設想是大概7/20至7/30，在台灣宜蘭壯圍、晨曦會及東海大學等地服事。然後是8/1至8/10在大陸服事。8/8/2008是本屆奧運會開始的時間，願神賜給我們服事的機會。
植堂的果子：12/1/2007是McKinney團契第一次活動，共有17人參加，而且大都彼此不相識。這是神的工作、這是美南浸信會的事工、也是我們教會的事工。下一次的團契是在1/12/2008，有感動的請踴躍參加。從二月份開始，神所賜下渴慕祂話語的心，我們又朝前走了一步：現在是每兩週有一次馬可福音歸納法查經。選堂址也正在進行中。
2008年的異象是「靈命更新」。什麼是靈命更新呢？為什麼要靈命更新呢？我盼望大家從一個經歷神的角度來看2008年的異象。
2008新之所新十二條
好，今年是2008年，主題是「靈命更新」。新在那兒呢？
1. 先談週五晚團契。明年開始，我們的團契將按照教會的肢體功能來架構團契的內容。具體的作法是，將每月的活動內容按照敬拜、教導、領袖、會眾及傳道，分佈在每月的第一至第五週。這樣一年將有十二次關於敬拜、教導、領袖、會眾為內容的週五晚團契，有四次以傳福音為主要內容的團契活動。不但是內容結構新，最重要的是，連負責週五晚活動內容的人也新：每月第一週胡夢蓓姊妹負責的敬拜團契內容；每月第二週彭惠強弟兄在負責教導；每月第三週周竹瑛姊妹負責領袖團契；每月第四週由王牧師負責會眾團契，其中有三次是雷鴻負責的宣教團契、兩次是高方中姊妹的靈修團契。另外一年四次(分別是二月、五月、八月及十月)有第五個週五的，我們可以用來邀請新朋友。可以用這四次機會來專注在已經來的新朋友、當週來的新朋友、及將要來的新朋友上，看看神要我們怎麼樣關心他們。
2. 執事會在靈命上全然一新！其中的標誌就是每一位執事都以寫靈程札記的方式來學習敞開自己的靈命，親近主、見證主及榮耀主的名！會眾可以透過每週的週刊來了解及監督領袖們的靈命。更重要的，是為我們的領袖們禱告、守望、及儆醒。
3. 我自己也會將自己的靈程札記透過牧者心聲向全體會眾公開表達出來，接受弟兄姊妹的監督。歡迎弟兄姊妹隨時回應您寶貴的意見。
4. 當2008年將要過去的時候，我們應該看見一個與以往不再一樣、有屬靈活力的屬靈團隊產生了。其特徵是「切實相愛」，為的是讓眾人認出我們真是屬於主的門徒。進一步的目標是當時光進入2009年時，我們的執事們可以用寫靈程札記的方式，來為教會栽培門徒了。
5. 除了教牧同工會、執事會率先進入門訓的行列，在其他的方式下也會進行一些「試點」，如現在方中姊妹正在教的姊妹靈修班。我盼望這將成為2009年姊妹事工的基石。
6. 青少年將以7-8年級、9-10年級、11-12年級及寧牧師四組為結構來展開明年週五晚團契的內容。四個第五週為特殊週五。詳情由寧牧師報告。
7. 開始將兒童事工列入教牧同工會每週議事日程，特別是關心新朋友帶來的兒童，提請代禱。這需要我們大家為這座大廈添磚加瓦。
8. 完成教會網頁事工：從明年起，爭取每月向會眾報告進展情況。讓弟兄姊妹的禱告成為網頁事工的支持及參與。
9. 將週五晚的敬拜安排，列入敬拜部的事工，並由每月第一、四個週五教牧行政會議統籌參與。
10. 短宣的變化。除了基本維持原本的壯圍工場以外，2008年我們的神學生還將與大甲日南教會配搭，為他們的門訓學員及同工進行靈修栽培。方式基本上就是教導「靈命造就」的密集課程。盡量每一位神學生都能參與教導及作見證。短宣日程方面，我初步的設想是：5/13-6/5, 我們將前往山西太原、吉爾吉斯坦、新疆、北京。6/6-19, 我們將在大甲日南教會、壯圍教會等宣教工場。
11. 植堂的繼續。我們教會在植堂的異象上會持定腳步，以主的大使命為依歸，配合美南浸信會在McKinney拓展國度的看見，腳踏實地作僕人，服事那裡的人。為此，差傳部已經設立一個專門的戶口，供弟兄姊妹金錢奉獻之用。事實上，現在已經開始有人往該戶頭奉獻金錢。感謝主！願神感動肢體的心，以基督的心為心，多多奉獻，投資永恆的國度。
12. 目前在我家的「McKinney異象團契」將逐步過渡到McKinney植堂異象中去。目前有幾位已具備浸禮前的準備，就算是我們教會為日後的McKinney華人浸信會的禮物吧。這些禮物是我們大家一同獻上給神的！決不是那個人的，乃是眾主肢禱告的功效！
展望未來
我們以前已經或將要走過的路是：2004年：鑄造異象、2005年：作主精兵、2006年：作主門徒、2007年：為主結果、2008年：靈命更新！我相信我們每一位在基督裏與神同行的人都不難看見以上五年神在我們教會裏留下的恩典痕跡，我們根據這些痕跡不難明白神的手將要在我們身上要做怎樣的工作。雖然我們不知明日要生何事，但有一點是很清楚的，就是2009年，我們將不再一樣！你相信嗎？不僅如此，我們更加相信的是，在2010年，神要帶領我們教會接受擴展疆界的挑戰！

Here is some information that hopefully will help your church in understanding the taxation of a ministerʼs compensation. The first page of the accompanying attachment is page 15 from IRS Publication 1828 and it talks about a ministerʼs compensation paid by a church not being subject to FICA taxes. The remainder of the attachment is pages from IRS Publication 517, which goes into more detail about taxation of ministers. Page 3 of that publication talks about employment tax status.
The general rule is that ministers have a dual tax status. You are considered an employee for Federal income tax purposes, which means the church should give you a W2 form. But for Social Security tax purposes, you are considered self-employed with respect to ministerial income, because as a minister you had the opportunity during the first two years of your ministry to elect out of paying social security tax on ministerial earnings. A minister who does not elect out of social security then has the responsibility to pay social security tax in the form of self-employment tax (SECA) on his personal tax return.
If you think about it, the church should not withhold FICA and Medicare tax from a ministerʼs compensation because the minister may have elected out of social security. The decision to elect out is a personal decision of the minister, and a church does not have the right to know if he has elected out unless the minister lets the church know. The church simply withholds no FICA or Medicare tax from the ministerʼs pay, and the minister has the responsibility for either paying it or not paying it based on whether he elected out.
That being said, when a church does its tax reporting correctly, it saves having to pay the 7.65% employer match of FICA and Medicare that is pays for any non-ministerial employee. If the minister has not elected out, he incurs most of this additional amount on his personal tax return because the self-employment tax rate is 14.13%. Many churches I deal with recognize this additional burden that the minister incurs by increasing his compensation by an amount equal to the employer FICA and Medicare match that it is saving.
